The Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education prepares students for state teaching licensure in grades 7 through 12 in an approved academic subject.

Upon completion of the baccalaureate curriculum, graduates will:

Demonstrate advanced pedagogical content knowledge and disciplinary literacy strategies within an approved secondary teaching field.
Design and execute differentiated instructional units and assessments aligned with secondary academic standards and adolescent cognitive development.
Establish safe, equitable, and engaging secondary learning environments that foster critical inquiry, student agency, and collaborative problem solving.
Integrate formative assessment data, reflective practitioner research, and ethical standards into ongoing professional secondary teaching practice.
