Covers how to read the three financial statements and how managers use cost behavior, budgets, and variance analysis to make decisions. Weekly problem sets use cases from manufacturing and service firms.
MGT 520 Statistics and Data Analysis for Managers 3 credits Fall
Reviews probability, sampling, hypothesis testing, and regression as tools for business decisions. Students interpret output from statistical software rather than derive formulas.
FIN 520 Corporate Finance 3 credits Fall, Spring
Covers time value of money, capital budgeting, cost of capital, capital structure, and payout policy. Students value projects and firms using spreadsheet models.
MKT 530 Marketing Strategy 3 credits Fall, Spring
Covers segmentation, targeting, positioning, pricing, and channel decisions in competitive markets. Cases ask students to build and defend a marketing plan.
MGT 530 Managerial Economics 3 credits Spring
Applies demand, cost, pricing, and market structure analysis to managerial decisions. Cases include pricing strategy and entry into competitive markets.

Covers process design, capacity, inventory, quality, and supply chain flow in manufacturing and service settings. Includes a process improvement project at a local firm.

Examines how leaders motivate teams, manage conflict, and lead organizational change. Sessions combine case discussion, peer feedback, and a personal leadership plan.

Introduces data preparation, descriptive and predictive modeling, and communicating results to decision makers. Students complete analyses in Python and spreadsheets during lab sessions.
FIN 560 Investments and Portfolio Management 3 credits Fall
Introduces security valuation, risk and return, diversification, and portfolio construction. Students manage a simulated portfolio through the semester.
FIN 570 Financial Modeling 3 credits Fall, Spring, Summer
Students build three-statement forecasts, discounted cash flow valuations, and sensitivity analyses in spreadsheets. Each session is a guided modeling exercise in the computer lab.
MKT 560 Digital Marketing and Analytics 3 credits Fall, Spring
Covers search, social, email, and web analytics, and how firms budget across digital channels. Students run a small paid campaign and report on its results.
MKT 570 Consumer Insights and Research 3 credits Spring
Teaches survey design, interviews, and experiments for understanding customer behavior. Students carry out a research study for a local organization.
MGT 565 Data Visualization and Predictive Modeling 3 credits Fall, Spring, Summer
Builds dashboards and forecasting models for sales, cost, and risk data. Students present a data story to a mock executive audience.
MGT 690 Strategy Capstone Consulting Project 3 credits Spring
Student teams consult for a partner organization on a strategic problem and deliver a written report and final presentation to its leaders. Work takes place at the client site with faculty advising.

Assistantship stipend

9-month stipend for a master's teaching, research, or graduate assistant.

Assistantships in this program
MBA coursework is billed at the MBA per-credit rate. Graduate assistantships are limited, and most evening students work full time.
A 20-hour assistantship includes a full tuition waiver of up to 12 credits per semester and covers mandatory fees (Graduate Handbook §6.3).
