Prospective students and their families can now ask the Office of Undergraduate Admissions a question at any hour. The Admissions Assistant, available on every admissions page, answers from the university’s published admissions information and links to the page it used.
“Most of the questions we get in November are the same twenty questions, asked at midnight,” said Hannah Lindqvist, director of undergraduate admissions. “Families shouldn’t have to wait until we open at 8:30 to learn that the SAT is optional.”
The assistant covers application deadlines, required materials, test-optional admission, fee waivers, visits, and transfer and international requirements. Questions about cost and scholarships go to a companion Financial Aid Advisor on the Cost & Aid page.
The assistant identifies itself as an AI assistant, and admissions counselors remain available by phone at (555) 555-0142 and by email at admissions@university.alkimi.ai. Admissions decisions are made by people, never by the assistant.
