Whitcombe Library will stay open 24 hours a day during the fall final examination period, which runs from Friday, December 11 through Thursday, December 17, 2026. The library will also open around the clock on Reading Day, December 10.
During the rest of the semester the library is open Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–2:00 a.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., and Sunday 10:00 a.m.–2:00 a.m.
“Finals week is when students need a quiet, warm, well-lit place the most,” said Dr. Oliver Brandt, university librarian. “We’d rather they be here than in a stairwell.”
Group study rooms can be booked for up to three hours per day on the library website, and The Crucible Café will extend its hours. After 2:00 a.m., entry requires an AlkimiCard.
