Rosa Delgado

Rosa Delgado has directed the Academic Advising Center in Lovell Hall 101 since 2015. The center offers academic advising, peer tutoring, and academic coaching, and it works with students on academic probation to build an Academic Success Plan. Delgado chairs the Academic Standing Committee, which reviews student petitions for exceptions to academic rules, such as a course substitution or a third attempt at a course.

She joined Alkimi as an academic adviser in 2004 after five years advising transfer students at Merrow Valley Community College, which she says taught her how much one missing prerequisite can cost a student. Her center leads the university's early-alert outreach to first-year and second-year students. This fall she worked with the Registrar to set up degree audits for the new Minor in AI & Society, which 19 students declared in its first three weeks.

Delgado holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Tamarack State University and a master's degree in counseling from Corwin University. She plays in a weekly pickleball league and is raising two teenagers who, she notes, do not take her academic advice.
