Dr. Priya Raman

Priya Raman has served as vice president for student affairs and dean of students since 2021. Her division covers student life outside the classroom: the residence halls, student conduct, campus activities, recreation, and the Hollis Health & Counseling Center. She chairs the CARE Team, which coordinates support for students in distress, and her office handles leaves of absence.

Raman joined Alkimi in 2014 as associate dean of students. Before that she spent nine years at Vantry State University, first as a hall director and later running the student conduct office, where she built a restorative program for students facing a first conduct charge. "The students who need us most are usually the least likely to ask," she says. "So we go find them." She holds open office hours in Brightwater Commons 300 each week of the semester, and students are welcome to drop in with anything.

Raman earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Kellbrook College, a master's degree in higher education administration from Ostrander University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Vantry State University. She lives in Merrow Falls with her husband and their two teenagers, and she hasn't missed a first-year move-in day since arriving at Alkimi.
