Gloria Whitman

Gloria Whitman is vice president for finance and chief financial officer. She leads Finance and Administration, which is responsible for the university's operating and capital budgets, treasury and endowment operations, student accounts, facilities management, and campus dining contracts. She joined Alkimi in 2011 as associate vice president for budget and planning and was named CFO in 2018.

Whitman works closely with the Faculty Senate on budget decisions that affect faculty and staff directly. When 2026–27 parking permit rates rose, she worked with Human Resources and Student Accounts to give employees a pre-tax payroll deduction spread over twelve months. She also reviews the tax side of requests to work from another state, and she can authorize an emergency paper paycheck when an employee's bank account closes unexpectedly.

Before Alkimi, Whitman spent a decade in public accounting and twelve years as controller and later chief financial officer of Merrow Falls Memorial Hospital. She is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Vantry State University and an MBA from Corwin University. A Merrow Falls native, she serves as treasurer of the Merrow Falls Public Library board and grows far more tomatoes than her family can eat.
