Beth Sandoval

Beth Sandoval is associate vice president for human resources. Her office in Harlan Hall 400 handles hiring, pay, benefits, leave, and workplace policy for the university's faculty and staff, and it is home to the Employee Assistance Program.

Sandoval joined Alkimi in 2014 as director of benefits and was named associate vice president in 2020. She led the change to post a salary range on every staff job listing, and she oversees the annual review of pay grades against higher education and regional market data. She approves starting salaries above a grade's midpoint and, with the CFO, reviews requests to work from another state. She serves ex officio on the Faculty Senate and on its Faculty Welfare and Professional Rights Committee.

Before Alkimi, Sandoval spent ten years in human resources at Merrow Falls Memorial Hospital, where she started as a benefits clerk. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Tamarack State University and a master's degree in human resource management from Corwin University. She coaches middle school volleyball and says it has taught her more about conflict resolution than any workshop.
