Dr. Aisha Rahman

Aisha Rahman became dean of the School of Business in 2020. The school, in Tidewell Hall, offers bachelor's degrees in business administration, accounting, finance, and marketing, along with the MBA in full-time and evening formats and the Master of Accountancy.

Under Rahman, the school has built business analytics into every major and expanded its corporate fellowships and student entrepreneurship programs. She works closely with the other deans on courses that cross school lines, and this fall she explained to the University Curriculum Committee how a new marketing analytics course fits alongside the computer science and data science offerings. Before coming to Alkimi, she was senior associate dean of the business school at Wendover University, where she taught finance for twelve years.

A scholar of corporate finance, Rahman studies how small businesses get credit and what happens to them when banks tighten lending. Before her doctorate she spent four years as a credit analyst at a regional bank. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Vantry State University and a PhD in finance from Ostrander University. She is a fiercely competitive board game player, and the school's staff game night is the one meeting she never misses.
