The first building of the college, paid for by Nathaniel and Eliza Harlan and 212 subscribing families whose names are carved in the entrance hall. Its white clock cupola, which appears on the university seal, has rung the hour since 1894. The 2012 restoration added elevators, an accessible east entrance, and the 420-seat Founders Hall Auditorium in the old chapel wing, used for the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony and orientations.
