About Dr. Tamika Staton
Tamika Staton holds the Calder Professorship and teaches sections of First-Year Seminar and Core Capstone, alongside courses on The American Civil War and Reconstruction. Her scholarship documents nineteenth-century Black political conventions, early civil rights organizing, and post-emancipation institutional life. She serves on the advisory board of the National Archives and has authored three foundational historical texts.
Dr. Tamika Staton is a member of the Department of History in the College of Arts & Sciences.
