About Dr. Richard Kimball
Richard Kimball teaches Music Appreciation and Aural Culture and directs Alkimi's jazz ensembles. A jazz trumpeter, arranger, and musicologist, his scholarship examines the evolution of big band arrangements during the swing era and mid-century modal improvisation. He performs frequently with professional jazz quartets and regional big bands throughout the Northeast.
