About Dr. Elizabeth Bancroft
Elizabeth Bancroft serves as chair of the Department of Sociology and teaches Cultural Anthropology: People and Culture. A cultural anthropologist, her ethnographic research explores traditional healing systems, herbal medicine, and indigenous knowledge preservation across Central America. She has directed longitudinal field projects and authored an award-winning ethnography on community rituals and health.
Dr. Elizabeth Bancroft is a member of the Department of Sociology in the College of Arts & Sciences.
