About Dr. Christopher Townsend
Christopher Townsend teaches Organismal Biology & Diversity and Senior Biology Capstone & Research. A systematic botanist, his research reconstructs evolutionary phylogenetic relationships and historical biogeography within northeastern angiosperm families using herbarium specimens and modern genomic sequencing. He curates the university's research plant collection and teaching herbarium.
